How many flashes can you trigger with this thing and whats the radius?

Radius is very far.
Haven't measured it, but before I bought it a checked it out and a friend of mine tested it triggering it across a supermarket parking lot.

I think* it can trigger up to 4, as long as you have 4 receivers.

So 1 transmitter in the hot shoe, then 4 receivers , 1 on each flash.

Wouldn't it be easier to just use slave flashes?

What do you mean "slave flashes"

All flashes can act as a slave, but you need a wireless transmitter to trigger the strobe.

Well once again proving my unlimited knowledge of cameras and the like, what is a strobe and why would you use it?

Strobe = flash lol.
Slave is just a word used for the mode of the flash being off camera, wireless or an extended wire.

A hot Shoe is what sends the signal for it to flash, slave mode allows it to receive the signal and trigger by flashing off.
But, you need something such as a wireless transmitter (Like those Cactus's) to send the signal wireless to the camera flash (strobe) to flash.

Off camera flash gives some neat effects and cool lighting.
Because you need to use faster shutter speeds because of the amount of light coming in.
So anything not being touched by the flash looks very dramatic, and then since your using a higher shutter speed the flash light looks very dramatic too!

I took this photo from the left side of the bike, and the flash was on the right side, off camera ^_^

Ok what I meant by slave was that it just went off when it sees a flash, as is my off camera flash, I knew what a strobe light was but I wasn't sure if it was any different. Thanks for explaining that a bit more.

Strobes, just another name for a flash.

HOWEVER, most people called flashes, flashes, or flashguns.
And they call the bigger, studio flashes "strobes"

But really, they are pretty much the same thing.

As it's raining quite a lot atm, I was trying to catch a cool 'water effect' by using my tripod and by setting the slutter speed for 10 seconds.
Turns out it deleted the rain for some reason, meh - I thought I was smart for a few minutes!
