Yeah thats true. Generally Ill like my stuff no matter what, but thats just because pretty much all of it is of my kids :lol: But I do try really hard to get "artsy" pictures of them. I want them to look at them when they get older and be like, damn these are cool.

You know whats REALLY a bummer? The fact that Ill take pics like these, and my mom will think theyre good and whatever, but its not a big deal. But when I go to walmart to get pictures done (I get the free stuff they always offer then dont buy anything, I think they hate me LOL) and I show her shes like OMG AMAZING. Ok, just because its a studio with a shitty black backdrop, that doesnt make their pictures better. Especially when theyre shining a strobe right in my daughters face.

Its up to you, just figured Id help out if you werent able to xD I alllllllways shoot raw. It has saved my ass on many occasions. It can seriously be a pain though, it takes forever to edit..especially when I take like 200 pics in one day. Im seriously contemplating trying lightroom.

Hehe, I used to shoot raw too. Then I figured, if I was seriously taking pics on a serious note (but when am I not??) I would just switch it to raw, and take the photo. But that never ever works out! :lol: It's funny when you mention your mom commenting on the photos. My mom finds the silliest things that makes the photo so much better in her point of view. But if they had a hobby of photography, they would then understand what looks good and what doesn't. But hey, if they like it, if someone likes it, that's all I can ask for! I am like you, I like all my stuff. Probably even half the stuff I don't even show people would like... I often wonder what those would be.

But what if something happens out of the blue, and your settings are wrong for that moment, and then youre boned cuz its jpeg! Thats how I always think anyway xD Probably because once I had it on jpeg without realizing it when we went to a playground, and the pics came out terrible. So much yellow from the slides, and uber noisy. Pretty much a lost cause :(

Yeah I guess youre right. It just drives me nuts. But I guess I cant really be too offended, my mom likes when theres sparkles and text and shit on a photo.

You should pick like ten photos that you wouldnt normally show and post a thread, see what you get.

Yeah, I know, it's a terrible idea that I came up with. I used to always shoot raw, and I never used the files really... they took up a lot of memory. Then I just became not too concerned about it after I had lightroom. Raw I am sure is still the best way to go, but lightroom makes it cool and fun to edit the photo just like I did with raw, I think O_o haven't much experience with either of them.

Sounds like a good idea with random photos, again, on the wrong pc, I'll do it tomorrow ! :D I am off to dream land.
