Go full frame next, you won't regret it :)

did i mention the f4 is an amazing studio lens?

Yup, that was what my plan was, to go full frame. Just so expensive, I have a lot of other things on the go I won't get it for years to come :D

It's an amazing studio lens, like portrait studio??

It's amazing in any situation where you use midrange - powerful flash heads (indoors or outdoors) because big flash heads throw a tonne of light @ f4!

I did a shoot in the studio just recently for a friend's music profile and I was shooting @ f8-f11 with that lens with the flash heads turned right down and everything is pin sharp.

You don't really need a new body but more like another lens for indoor sports. You simply need more light which means a lens with a lower f-number.
The EF 135mm f2L is a very good lens for that or if you don't want to spend 1200 bucks there is also a EF 100mm f2. I believe your 70-200 f4 lens is mainly meant for
outdoor sport and urban wildlife shots. It may be good for outdoor portraits at 200mm f4 but if you want wider you will need a lens with at least f2.8 to get better
subject and background separation. That is why I think an EF 24-70 f2.8L would be better for your needs since it is good for both indoor and outdoor portraits.

I don't plan on doing any indoor sports at all  I only had to try it out just for the heck of it. I enjoy the outdoors and plan to use all my lenses outside (weather permitting) so I am not worried about getting a lens for indoor shots - I WANT to be OUTSIDE! Who the hell would want a 200mm lens indoors anyway?

So what happened to the 24-70 you were so fond of? Now it's 135? :D

I am probably going to get the 24-70 - but not anytime soon that's for sure.

Am disregarding! I am not much into portraits at all actually. Too many technicalities I think I almost would want to go to school to learn it all.

haha it's the same here. I actually sold my stupid flash because it is rarely used even as fill flash but I may will regret that later on lol.
You will definitely have a lot of fun with your new lens during the summer and I hope you will get some good shots of animals :)
lmao! I think you would need to live in a large mansion to use 200mm indoors :p

I still have my precious 24-70 lens and plan to use it quite a lot during the summer especially now that I have a much better camera so I won't sell it anytime
soon. Sorry! :D Well I have had the 135mm f2L for awhile now I actually purchased it soon after I got the 24-70. It is my main outdoor telephoto lens simply because
I currently don't have any lenses longer than that :( but I am definitely loving it's large aperture and creamy bokeh. It seems that Canon is not offering any spring
rebates this year probably because of what happened in Japan last month but I am sure the price on the 24-70 will go down sooner or later so maybe by the time
you want to purchase it they will be offering a rebate on it.

Oh btw I purchased an used lens earlier today. It's an older version of your 50mm f1.8 II lens. The main difference is it got a metal mount, a distance scale and a real
manual focus ring. I bought it dirt cheap and hoping to sell it for twice as much as I paid lol

shot with EF 24-70 f2.8L and 5D2
