A local photography society has the right idea. They have topics like wood, water, "a pair of..", etc.. Everyone can get access to those.. And there are thousands of topics like that.

Architecture was a good idea, but not many people have access to buildings and good architecture.

I have to admit that I am a bit disappointed with the submissions including mine along with the participation. I think one reason may be due to the amount of consecutive contests with prizes and maybe its time to reflect about taking a break. One contest finishes and and another one commences within a couple days so its like a continuous contest. People argue to which picture follows the theme or tells another they don't know anything about photography because of a comment they made or others feel they wont vote because there isn't a picture worthy of a vote. Your vote is what decides what fits the theme or what is better than the others. This is suppose to be a fun event but it sure doesn't seem that way when it is voting time. Maybe we are better off just posting whatever pictures we want whenever we want, instead of doing continuous contests. Some say lets have an open contest, do people really need a contest to post a good picture?
