I heard that all Nikon shooters auto-lose in this contest. Therefore, #4, obviously taken with a Canon, should win.

2: Moving my camera while I take a long exposure :\

doesent look like that imo, look closer

imo 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 doesent fit in the motion theme. if this was a school project all of those would get auto fail, no matter how good shots they are. thats like being hired to go to shoot a rally contest for a paper and you bring a picture of a rabbit on a race track to your client.

imo you should be more strict about pictures actually fitting the theme next time

I think there's no reason to stop discussing about pictures. First of all, it's impossible :p
Second it's constructive so gg.

100% agree with you.
The contest theme should be very well kept in mind before voting.

If all of us start spamming here counting votes will be harder.

100% I'm not interested in birds. People > birds. Birds won't pay you for taking a picture of them :D

Either what I said or a double exposure, either way, I'd say it's bordering on being a little too abstract for the topic.

Well kept in mind, sure, but people should try to explore the connotations of a subject, rather than it's annotations (ie, what does it mean, rather than what does it show).

I usually try with this trick to evaluate a picture that must follow a theme.

I look at each of them and list the three first subjects that come to my mind.

I mean, using a reverse question: "if I show you this picture I made for a contest, which do you think was the contest theme?"

Doing that, I exclude most of the pictures, then I can focus on technical aspects or just decide which one catches my eye.

if theme is a motion, the idea is that picture shows the motion, not freeze the action(thats quite the opposite of showing motion).

You need to stop thinking so literally.

i used to think this kind of things like you, but then my friend who went to photography school said some things that his teachers told, i had little experience working on the industry and listened to people who do this for a living.
