Your journey has just begun though, and it's a process that should be embraced warmly. I've been passionate about photography since I was a child.

What I meant by him getting out more is studying other photographers art, the greats.

To be horribly blunt, I haven't been impressed at all. Sorry man. There were 18 year old kids at my uni who looked like they were shooting for 20 years and would still put me to shame.

I started "taking pictures" with black and white film and did my own chemical processing when I was 13 and received an award and exhibited work at the National Gallery of Victoria (my state) in Melbourne at 17. It was a knock out competition called Top Arts for the very top percentile of high school students in the state.

And I don't rate myself at all :P Just do what I love and if people like it it's an added bonus :)

That's the way to be! Unless your life depends on it. O.o

Good picture, not a big fan of the editing though. I think Animals in scenes like these should usually have a soft, warm kind of atmosphere but this black/blue cold tone is more something I would choose for an industrial scene. And sorry I don't like any titles or whatever inside pictures :P

Still a good picture though! :)

As a horse owner I would say this picture is awesome as far as the light, color and everything else.
Only thing....
The horse MUST have his ears pointed forward for this kind of shot...
But other than that I really like it!!!

You can read a horse's mind just by looking at his ears.
This horse has his attention on something that goes on behind him and is quite sleepy.
You want him to have his attention on something in front of him, so both his ears are pointed in front.
This will show intelligence and better character on a horse.

It's all about expression, same as a human model.
Ofc you have to work with the model to obtain the wanted expression.
It is the same with horses.
