hehe that's true but I do have seen and heard that many of those macro photographers use tripods maybe it's in a studio or something.

Well I think that kid has made this sub-forum lame and lazy with very few photos posted so to break this trend here is one of the photos I took earlier this morning :D

and now I am off to bed :D

The movement of the wings and the lack of focus on the right side and the line-y bokeh make this picture really portray what bug shooting is like: fuckin annoying and filled with movement.

I am a complete noob to this close to macro action photography but is it really necessary to use the f-word?
I know I am far from as good as the best photographer on JSP whom you seem to admire but at least I am still posting pictures instead of just spamming the forum with lies and sarcastic fake positive comments.

Here is a cropped version. The right side is blurred because of its flexing wings but I know I could have done better with the bokeh though.

You manage your photos with DPP right? Have you ever try shooting in landscape picture style. I like how colors are presented with that picture style. It's alot more vibrant.

It's a picture style. You have that on the Xsi also. It mimics Fuji Velvia film's color reproduction to give reds, greens, and blue more "pop".

In another words.. the camera manages the colors differently so it makes the "landscape" look more vibrant.

I think it's straight from camera. Don't think much editing has been done if any at all.

On the dial / selection buttons (you use the thumb usually) on the right hand side.
Select / up/down/left/right etc. etc.

DOWN > Picture Style menu > L (Landscape) = +4/0/0
You can also do custom functions for the last 3 in that list.

What blackrose said.

You can also change it in DPP (Digital Photography Professional), the software that came with the Canon DSLRs.

You can also change the picture styles in Lightroom 3. As far as i know, ACR (Adobe Camera Raw) now also supports that function.

Here is how i change it in LR3. You should buy it also, great program indeed.
