Are you closing down tou aperture though?
I know it would slow down your shutter speed even more but it would help with the DOf (and yes, I know the lens is not connected to the body, but here is how to do it: you just attach the lens, select the aperture, dof preview button and unscrew the lens. The aperture will remain closed, you will have a sharper image too.)
I thought the fly was dead cause it's missing so many scales on the eyes.

I do not understand the first thing you are saying.
Hmm. I thought the aperture mechanism was inside the lens. But thank you very much for the guide to aperture, I will try it today.Nice to get some ideas from you guys, to improve the work.
Yeah. I think it is about a week old, and I will try to get a fresh one. :P

sorry for the bad spelling: I asked if you are using the lens wide open or if you already were using the lens stopped down (with the aperture closed a bit).

Oh and BTW, I looked at the lens now on the front page, it does not look like a canon lens.
I supposed you were using the kit lens or something and you were using it wide open since it has no aperture ring on it.

I am using a Canon FD 50mm 1,8. I think the aperture is set to 1,8, I could increase it though, but I have no idea if it work reversed as well?

yes, it works the same way.

Increasing the aperture will get you a lot more DOF and sharpness, although it will slow down you shutter speed even more. IMO it's a better way than using focus stack

I do not care about the shutterspeed will get slower. :)
But I will try increase the aperture today and see how it looks, I somehow hate the stack tecnique, so the aperture setting is a great thing!
Thanks for the comments Astragony. :)

No problem, you are welcome.

Yeah the focus stack is a huge pain in the ass, achieving the image in the camera is alot better and rewarding.

Yeah, I also like it more when "the final result" is from the camera rather than the software.

I will go shooting now. If you guys have any idea just post. :)

I use a program called Helicon Focus. Quite easy to use. :)
