check these out if you like coins

Bigger one is from the time when russia rules finland, the smaller i dunno where its from, but i think its from russia. Bought the smaller one from some old coin museum from hungary when i was 10 and the bigger from flee market from finland few years earlier. I allso got a silver 1mark coin from 1917(the year finland got independent from russia), but i couldnt find it, the coin looks same as the 1mark coins they made in 80's(if i remember right), but they didnt make the coins from silver much and only made them for few years.

Wow those are some freaky looking old coins! So do you have a large collection of coins or you just bought them for fun? lol
I do like those silver coins too but they are usually very pricey especially those old ones sad.gif.

About history of Finland lol. I know it has been a Russian colony for a long time because Russia took it from Sweden in a war looooooooong time ago before that Finland used to belong to Sweden and that's why you guys still learn Swedish in school smile.gif.

In addition to your coins, i thought you guys might like these ones. They have a logo on them saying VOC which means Verenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie ( united east-india company), which was a dutch trading company. On the other side they have different pictures on them from parts of the Netherlands. ive got tons of coins but no im not a collector, my grandmother gave them to me haha

oh and the coin that has the other side up is the oldest one from 1728

Pennies aren't really that expensive, I think I paid like 5 or 6 bucks for one. It's when it gets to the higher priced coins, when it gets expensive; especially the bills.

Edit: Seabas, would you consider "selling" me one or two of those? happy.gif

HEY! I want those coins too!!!!! Whatever Chantal7 is willing to pay you I will pay more lol JK!
But those are really awesome coins! and especially when the coins have such exotic name and background lol. So your grandma was/is a coin collector?

Yeah I am sure pennies aren't expensive because they have made probably billions of them lol and they are usually made of crappy metal like copper. Oh btw I actually found an older quarter at work earlier today. It's from the 60s and appears to be made of silver ohmy.gif I didn't know you Canadians actually used silver quarters as late as the 60s ohmy.gif.

LMFAO! hahaha That's the first time I heard people saying Swedish sounds awful. Though I have to admit that it's not a cool sounding language like American/Canadian English but it's not that bad lol. Actually a coworker of mine told me that he was rather disappointed that I don't have this Swedish accent when I speak English course he thought it's sounds cool lmao.

You know old coins like yours shouldn't be in your wallet because they would get worn out pretty fast and IF you loose your wallet you would loose those cool coins too sad.gif.
