Been a while since I've seen you around! How the heck are you? How is the 7000 treating you...?

Im doing great! Ill have more time to spend here now that I joined a new group: retired moderator.
The d7000 is mighty fine and I take so many pictures I didnt even look over everything from June in Europe yet lol. Got myself a NIKON AF-S 50MM F1.4 G LENS but I rarely use it because I love my 16-35 so much.

I had promised my brother I wouldn't compete with him- but he only does video, and now that his wife is back with him (she taught me photography), she will be taking pictures alongside (since my first photo job was with them, until she left him) and implementing what she learned with me onto his business. So until I move to a different city (which may or may not happen in Jan, depending on the folks that give my my BA), I think it wrong to compete. Family > everything to me.

About the job issue: I think i can make money anywhere lol. It's not like I'd go back to working in an office or a restaurant if i quit photography. Photography is just a very easy way to do it. I HAVE been contemplating to become a full-time, live-in butler to some rich old ladies near Austin.

Zex: if i were to start again, and Nikon would sponsor me, i STILL would not go Nikon. Orange skin tones = yuck.

I know but you have way to much invested in time and money to quit. Moving is a good option and you can find a workable solution for just a few months I am sure.

Have they even mentioned anything to you about it?

Cleaning up Depends is definitely more awesome than doing wedding photography.

1. don't compete, you still can have parallel jobs, I believe there is more than just one wedding per week :) ... or talk to brother and settle together with him and his wife a company to have all of you jobs

2. or find other field then wedding photography, like:

more via PM if interested

3. who will lead our guild when you quit?
