Im wondering whether to buy a package deal on dwi or buy the body and choose myself a nice lens.

i would go for the 24-105 f/4 lens
it is a great everyday lens, and you certainly wont need to upgrade it for a long time

oh that is an L lens. That means it is weather sealed so thats another huge advantage besides the IQ ofc.

Too long on small sensors, and some reviews says no sharp enough for the 7d's density.... A kit lens on APS crop is more or lens the same as 24-105 on ff, but ofc weather sealing is a good thing.

From the other side, contax lenses are not weather sealed and people used them for years everywhere. So, if he is looking for a cheaper solution...

Contax lenses? Are they decent?
