I hope your kids are taking the divorce well. Personally I think mothers are much more important than fathers especially if he is not a good one so I wouldn't be surprised that your kids are fine because you seem to be a good mother
lol I also have to admit that being single is really great financially. I've been single for five months and during that time I've had the luxury to get myself some nice camera stuff

My daughter took it harder than my son (she is 1.5 year older) but I'd say they are doing great:)
Everything I do I do it with them:)
And I also had the luxury to get a DSLR and even got a 50 mm lens!!!

what kind of camera are you using? a rebel right?

Canon xsi (Rebel Eos), bought it used with the 18-55 lens (kit) and including the grip and 3 batteries (Opteka).
All I had to buy is the memory card and now I have a 55 mm 1.8 Canon.
I am entering a photo contest with October 1st as a deadline..
Already posted about it, theme is wild flowers and trees....
I know I am getting so much better now, and the new lens helps sooooo much!!!

A MACRO LENS!!!

Darn, here I had a EOS macro lens that was given to me for free but it won't work with a rebel :(\
I know you're struggling because you're macro-less, and that always used to be the pictures you would take.

Are you sure it is an EF lens? Because the Rebels, any Rebels, can use all the EF AND EF-S lenses.


Sigh! I am currently debating whether or not I should get a macro lens since I have really got addicted to taking pictures of bugs lately
then again I will probably have to get a steady and expensive tripod plus a macro ring flash to go with it

No need a tripod to shoot bugs!!
By the time you get your tripod set up, the bug has moved to a different place
Hand held is the best

hehe that's true but I do have seen and heard that many of those macro photographers use tripods maybe it's in a studio or something.
