So instead of IDE I set it to AHCI?

Do I have to do this before I install windows or anytime?

No problems. Getting into it now.

Before you run away... Windows isn't recognising my old IDE hard drives. I used them to store shit before I formatted. They don't appear in My Computer but they do in Disk Management. The only option to choose is New Simple Volume but that wants to format my full drives >.<

Change bios options back to IDE and back up the contents to an external drive.
