yeah of course. Back when I lived in Sweden I have heard people asking relatives living in the States to buy cameras and other electronics and send them to Sweden as gift in that way they wouldn't have to pay duty.

Ah okay. Clever idea! :D
I only know you guys, but it is kind of illegal to do. Do you have 2 years of "reklamtionsret" in canada?

Well the thing is I don't think they know what you guys BROUGHT over there. Like if you bring your camera there and a lens you could bring back the same camera but with TWO lenses without them noticing. I think it's the same if I go back to Sweden and I bring the camera and all the accessories with me I doubt they would know whether if I bought them in Sweden or else where... That limit thing really sounds stupid and I am sure most people would just ignore it :p

I am sure most ignore it too; but if you get caught be prepared to pay some. That's what it was called; duty.

Well you have to gamble a little sometimes lol. It's not easy for the customs to prove that you actually bought the lens or whatever in the States and I am sure they have a lot more serious stuff to worry about like drug smuggling so as long as you don't bring a load of stuff back from the States I am sure you'd be fine. You know my dad used to bring a bunch of cigarettes with him back from his trip to China lmao and he has never got caught and I know smuggling cigarettes is whole a lot more serious crime than "smuggling" a lens for your camera :p

Yeah.... a lot of things people do are considered illegal and I am sure the law enforcement have better things to do catching people "smuggling" lenses lol.
hmm I have no idea if we have a board for consumer complaints in Canada like they do in Sweden.
