Also, fuck developing colour slides yourself. Black and white, sure, that's easy, but anything else, fuck that.

I just realized one of my (intentional) forgotten pet peeves...which is DOLLS....

I absolutely HATE dolls...Like, I hate doll shots more than anything else.
I think they are stupid, pointless and lack ever last bit of creativity possible.
It also is somewhat weird for grown men to be photographing female toy dolls, especially when he starts naming them "Tina" etc.

Like, it really is not hard to find a subject, Why must you pick dolls out of everything else. There is an entire fucking world out there to be discovered, yet you sit in your house, posing plastic figurines
and photographing them. What a waste.

Sorry if you like dolls, I hate the subject. As said above, pointless. FUCK ME...

I also once saw another channel, yet he actually had fucking videos of him "opening" up the dolls that came in the mail to him. (They were those Anime nude dolls too~)

Today I had a camera with me at school today.
Some friends asked me why I have it, and I explained to them that I want to do some photography.
When I told them I want to do it in the future as part of my career, they laughed. =(

Well, it is unlikely that you will be able to make enough money off of it. I am speaking statistically of course...

Code
Statistics show that for a photographer in 2002 the average annual salary was $24,040. The lowest 10% earned less than $14,640, the middle 50% between $17,740 and $34,910 while the highest 10% earned upwards of $49,920. For a photographer employed by a newspaper or periodical the average annual salary was $31,460, while in other professional and scientific services the average was $21,860.

(Source : www.bls.gov )

I'm not saying this to discourage you, just saying it to really show that if you want to make it as a photographer - you will need to try reaaalllllly hard. Or do it as a hobby / side job.

As far as my pet peeve....
I hate really "artsy" pictures. Things like "I took a picture of a cardboard box and the lighting was kinda shitty...but made it black and white so now its really damn cool"

Having gone to an art museum a few days ago, I found things that really grind my gears. A small square on a large canvas. How exciting. But that picture was getting the majority of attention from the crowd.
However the picture of a large, incredibly detailed and well presented cityscape got no glances. I guess looking at it just because it is weird is one thing, but actually saying that the square took talent / skill / time is comical.

Not quite photography of dolls, but Trevor Brown does some crazy doll related artwork.

Man, there's a portrait company in England that seems to specialise in making portraits covered in white out. I always get pissed off when I walk past them.

There're millions of people that dabble in photography, so it's hardly an exclusive club ;)

Things that annoy me:
Leaving my camera on the highest ISO setting and forgetting to change it back.
People that shoot digital and have never shot any film.
Digital making photography far too easy, there's hardly any skill required anyore :(

Lots of film being phased out :( RIP Kodak HIE.
No use for coloured filters with digital photograhy :(

Thats so not true. If hardly any skilll is still required, then how come it takes years of practice to become a good photographer? Taking a picture has not become a lot easier or anything like that.
Btw why do you not like people who have never shot with film? Cant really understand that

Learning to become a photographer is much easier with digital over film, that's a fact, it can take years, but most people with an art background are at a serious advantage because they understand some basic design principles.

Yes, taking a picture has become much easier, go shoot a few rolls of low ASA slide and tell me how it's just the same as taking shots with a fully automatic digi cam.

To be able to take good picture you will need to understand how your camera works anyways. I doubt you will ever find a good photographer thats always shooting on full auto. Basically youre saying you hate people who have never taken pictures on manual settings.. The Automatic part has not much to do with film or digital

Understanding DoF and shutter speed doesn't take a genius, it's when it's combined with ASA, granularity, push and pull processing that it starts to get hard.

Any idiot can understand how a digicam works.
