The lower the Fstop the darker the moon looks, and then you can't get the details in the moon like the craters etc.

And, It might be because I live in the biggest populated, most expensive city in Canada that nobody uses film.
And to add to the fact film is a bit more of a pain to get processed, you can't really edit film with Photoshop, and dark room chemicals are terrible for then environment and for people.

The thing is a photo shouldn't need to be edited if it's been taken well, and yes, you can edit film in photoshop by just using a negative/transparency scanner, hell a bunch of a tools in PS are just digital means of doing stuff one can do in the dark room, ie dodging and burning in.

Film is hardly a pain to process, it just takes a bit of time and knowledge.

I think you're being naive if you don't think anyone in your city uses film, go check out local photography shops, if any of them stock film, or offer film processing services, it's because people use it.

I didn't state nobody does. But everybody I have seen has fully upgraded to Digital because it's much more easy.

I could care less about your opinion. You can like film, I don't care. I like digital, much more easier.

whatever. F4 makes the moon look like the sky is exploding. F22 looks like I forgot to take the lens cap off.

You need to be in the middle to get it perfect.

You've already stated you're taking a digital photograpy course, hence why you're not exactly exposed to people around you shooting with film.
Just talk to your teacher about shooting film and he should have a few things to say on the subject.

I have asked him about his opinion.
He told me exactly what I told you.

He used to shoot Film, but has upgraded fully to Canon Digital.
It is a longer process, Harmful to the environment and to people, AND You can pretty much do anything in digital that you could with film
but easier.

It's all about productivity.

That final comment is completely and utterly absurd.
You are not a professional, and even if you plan to be, photography right now for you is just a learning process.
As such, don't do it for fucking productivity, do it because you enjoy it. Experiment with different mediums, experiment with different types of photography, experiment with different cameras, whatever, just experiment.
You won't have the time to do that when it finally does become a matter of productivity, if it ever does.

Photography is first and foremost an art form, thinking about it in terms of productivity is ridiculous.

You need to be productive when you have deadlines to meet buddy.
I'm not saying I'm a professional.
I currently have 2 weddings book for 2009, 2 family portraits at a park and have already made over $200 in selling my framed prints.

Now, I can not sit there processing film when people want to see their photos right away.
productivity.

Now stop acting like you know everything. I have yet to see some work by you.
I would like it if you would refrain from commenting on my photos until I see some of your own work.
Thanks.

You can easily have film processed and prints done in a couple of hours. so saying you've got strict timelines is stupid. If you were working on a newspaper where there really are tight deadlines I might understand.

Congratulations on getting some jobs, and selling prints, that's always a good start, the hardest part of photography is always advertising yourself.

If you haven't seen any of my work you obviously haven't been paying much attention to this section, but her you go, I'll indulge you. http://forums.d2jsp.org/index.php?showtopic=27222062&f=265&st=30

What about the other two don't you like? The subject? Composition? Technique?
