lol this is absolutely not true, you hardly notice the distortion unless you have the object you are taking a picture of very close to the camera.

the distortion is easilly noticable even on landscapes, atleast if you know what the scape looks like

Yes you can see it, but it doesnt really bother you when you look at a landscape picture, it still is realistic. not even close to as he called it 'a balloon'.

Okay, I was wondering about filters.... I only want one to protect it, and maybe a polorizer later (or maybe there is a better one?). Do you know what they would be called? Like 10-20mm filters or what?

ok about filters. obviously you will need a 77mm filter for that lens and from what I have seen those are quite expensive but of course its good to have to protect your a lot more expensive lens lol
anyway I saw this post on some other online photography forum, maybe someone here can confirm what that guy said is correct or not.

Also, a UV/protective filter is nice to have, and I might even suggest an ND filter depending on what you shoot. Be very careful using polarizers, though. A polarizer works best at 90 degrees from the Sun (or dominant light source). With a FOV so wide, you will likely get a darker stripe in the middle of the frame where the polarizer's effect will be stronger than at the edges.

Yeah, I know I need an expensive one, but I have no idea where you for "77mm" from. That's what I wanted to know.

hmm what do you mean? where I found out that sigma 10-20 need a 77mm filter?

some info about using polarizer with wide angle lenses, but you have to scroll down a lil bit lol

Basically since the polarizer depends on the angle of light, and the wide angle has so much angle, some of the sky is polarized and some isn't. Poor explanation, but it makes sense. I never considered it.

lmao hope its not too much info for ya

maybe Antichrist and Astragony who actually had or have sigma 10-20 will give you better info
