I think the focus doesnt sit 100% right. nevertheless good use of dop and I like it in b/w. 7/10
funny story. actually this is a guest of our bar and I happened to take some photos because we had an event tonight. I was just trying to get a decent portrait of him, instead it turned out to look pretty interesting in large size on my computer. so I took him into ps, cropped alot away and made it a clean portrait with black background.

And here I thought the horsey was in focus :/, and now when I look at it again, it still is

cant see your photo so i will rate the chess board
cool grayscale but out of focus 6-7/10
dito
white to move, and the correct piece (the knight) is in focus

What?
Man, I think you should read up a bit on some photographic techniques before rating somebody's work.
The focus he's used was done purposely, with a low Fstop to create depth of field.
Personally I'd rate it an 8/10, only because of the composition, & perhaps not as much contrast as I normally like.
Thanks!

You'd like more contrast than the current version has?

Agree, I see what he is trying to achieve with the darker setting but it's a little too much for me.
I see what you mean
