I just stuck with the brand of camera I had, got a canon remote. I don't know anything of generics - I would read the user comments about it before buying a generic one. I am sure some of them are good though.

A trick for focusing under no light conditions on objects such as stars that are far away. Turn your lens to the infinity point and then back it off just a slight bit. So if turning the lend to the right makes it go to infinity, then make it go all the way until it can no longer turn, then come back just a nick/tick. Smidgeon. That's infinity, perfect sharp. Low iso, sturdy tripod, cable or MLU, cable in the case of needing to shoot longer such as stars. Warm clothing, gloves. Whiskey. Ok, all ready.

this but i suggest using mlu and a cable. will produce much less vibrations

and turning VR off might of helped. Forgot about doing that
