why didn't I think of this lol I'm going to try harder next time with more preparation

thank you!
the only thing that stops me from getting a cheap tripod is that the tripod will be holding my camera and would I really trust my camera on something that isn't good quality? but yes maybe one day
I did just this except I wasn't sure what to frame because I wasn't completely sure where the lightning would come next! I was lucky I caught these 2 one right after the other and in the same general area lol

thanks for the advice though it is greatly appreciated
Mine isn't cheap in quality as it will fall apart when I put something on top of it

but it probably wouldn't be able to hold a lot of weight. All tripods give you the max weight they can hold, so take a look at that if you want to try and find a cheaper one. Find out how heavy your camera is (might say on the box, or google) plus your lens and see how it fits! I put my 70-200 and my camera on my tripod and it didn't fall over

I was just extra careful. I haven't trusted it 100% with it yet though. If you want quality, stay with a brand name that is well known
