I think it is a professional website. Looks great. The only problem I see is that you will not get many visitors from google as it is not SEO yet. You could write some text about wedding photography and the locations where you work and also add more tags to the images. If you do the SEO right you do not even have to advertise the site. Clients will find you through google.

/e ofc also link the site to PR4 or higher sites with the right anchor

Thank you for your help.

Some thoughts.

Make the homepage a permanent page, rather than a blog page that updates. Use that to showcase your best work, you really want people to come to the site and immediately be wowed by the photos.
With that, you could then add a box below the main eye-catching content showing your latest work with a selection of the better photos.
Change the "See our latest work!" tab to something simpler, like just "recent work", or "showcase".
Not a fan of the font used in the navigation tabs, a sans-serif font would probably look better. Font throughout the rest of the site looks great though.
slightly transparent navigation is nice, but could do with being a bit more opaque.
Make the search bar longer, and give the button some styling so it fits the rest of the site.
Work on your marketing a lot, you've got FB buttons in your posts, but they're hidden away at the bottom where people won't find them. Consider adding a button right near the top, creating a Facebook page for the business and adding a like box for the page on your site. http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like-box/
Give your site a major SEO boost by enabling pretty URL's. (it's under Permalinks in the Settings section of the admin panel).
Your home button goes to "www.photographyby.com" but the site is at photographyby.co, keep it to one thing, and don't change it. www is probably best, so change general site settings to reflect that.

Just my first thoughts, will probably have more later.

No problem.

With the Facebook thing, if you're going to add a button, make sure it's the share on, not the like.

Basically, with Share, it creates a big update on people's walls, that then also gets shown to every friend that person has. It also shows a picture, and some of the text from the post/website.
With like, all you get is a measly little line of text, which doesn't get shown to other people. That's not good.

slightly transparent navigation is nice, but could do with being a bit more opaque. (I understand this but when I do it, the font gets opaque too and and it's hard to see )

On the site you linked me to, I can only find the 'like' button, but not the share code.

Edit: Ugh, no matter what I do, I can't get the share function :(

Try this plugin.
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/sharecount-for-facebook/

For the like box, you want like, not share, because it means people will like your page, and gets subscribed to all the updates you post on it.

I'm on gf's laptop at the mo, so can't really get you any code for the search bar, etc. Will post it here tomo though.
