Saying that Nikon lenses are more expensive than Canon is not exactly correct. If you compare the recently released Canon lenses to similar Nikon ones they are actually either similarly prices or cost more.
What's even more outrageous is that the EF 16-35 f2.8 cost more or less the same as Nikon 14-24 f2.8
Are those prices including the 25% VAT?
I haven't been in Swe for a couple of years but prices on photo equipment there have always been around 30% higher than in the US
and probably around 10% higher than in some other European countries.
In Italy, Nikon 14-24 costs 1.5 times more than 16-35...
The only canon lens that costs more or equal than nikon is the 70-200 2.8 MK II and no doubt it is better zoom around, so, nikon is more expensive, that is it.
