My thoughts on the photos:

1. Creative and funny. But as for the theme I think there are better shots that were submitted.
2. The expression is good. Focus is just a bit off, and the reflection in the glass kind of ruins it.
3. Not sure how I feel on the background. Pole coming out of the monkey is awkward, so its somewhat badly composed.
4. Just as Onepage said.
5. I think this is a lovely image. But I cannot convince myself that this fits with this theme.
6. If the person I think took this photo did in fact take this photo, I am slightly disappointed in it. This isn't a bad image in any way, but I think that this person if capable of far better work. I have seen it before.
7. Good, nothing great.
8. Lovely bokeh, had the theme been bokeh it'd have my vote.
9. Great expression, but I think the composition could be a bit better, mainly getting lower meeting the level of the subject.
10. Nothing really interesting to me in this shot. A lot of distracting things in the shot as well.
11. The eyes in this shot have it all. However the post or the exposure that give it the dark look, take so much away from the subject.
12. Beautiful. However the groom is merging with that black shadow, I really dislike this.
13. Meh
14. I couldn't figure out where the zebra baby was. I looked like 3 times thinking I was going to see a baby zebra. Cute baby, cute shot, lacking what I would call expression.
15. Good shot, nothing exciting though.

Or we could always choose our fav number that's listed, if listed there.

Sorry, I do not want to seem rude, but nothing is really hitting me. Where I see expressions it misses technique and vice versa.

I won't vote this time

OK, since I'm allowed to, I will post a wall of text.
I have a few random friends on facebook, and recently I asked them to help me evaluate my picture for the contest.
To do so, I sent them the picture and told them it was for a contest, and they had to guess which was the theme of the contest.
I think this is the best way to judje if a picture fits the theme, and this is how I evaluate them.
I will tell if this contest's pictures can pass "my test" or not.

Now enjoy my opinion about each photo. I'm not a pro so be careful with it.
Also, I'll be ninja and I'll comment my picture as well, so you guys won't understand which one it is B)

#1: I think I got the idea in the picture, a smiling beheaded guy. I like the idea and the short DoF spot on the head. The white background is a bit messy tho. Test passed.

#2: OK there are two pictures with monkeys. I must admit I like the other one more. This one has a good expression, but I don't like the light ghost in it, and it seems like a forced crop. Test passed.

#3: I like the expression, and it's technically good. I dislike the leash tho, and the background seems quite distracting. Test passed.

#4: Honestly, I love this picture, but it doesn't pass my test. I can't see "expressions" anywhere, maybe one of the drivers had to be looking at the camera, or have a different pose.

#5: Mmmh, nice picture, there's something strange with colors, but overall I like it. Unsure about the test, I'd say it passed it at 70%.

#6: Another sweet picture, very well done. But in my opinion it does not pass the test.

#7: I admit I consider it one of the best pictures, at least concerning the technical part. Passes the test, but loses a lot of points with me because I've seen way to many pictures of cats :(

#8: Passes the test, even tho it's not that impressive. I will speak out of the chorus, but I like the background a lot. IMHO loses a lot of points because it's out of focus. It had to be more spot on the eyes.

#9: Passes the test, and it passes it very well. Good expression on the face, and the body speaks too. I love the short DoF and the focus. Something's messy with the background, IMHO it had to be desaturated a bit to pull the subject out more.

#10: If I got the photographer's intentions, the subject here should be the kid, but somehow the adult stands out more. Dunno if it's more about the motion blur on the kid or the composition. Passes the test.

#11: Those eyes are enough to make the picture pass the test. I think that such a portrait definitely needs a better light source tho. And I keep being distracted by the shadows behind the head.

#12: Mmmh I quite like this one. But I think there's too much post editing. I can see the attempt to bring the watcher's eye on the subject by adding vignetting, but it ends up standing out too much. I think I'd prefer a more "straight out of camera" version. Passes the test.

#13: Something fails on the woman's face, motion blur or focus, I can't decide. But I love her expression, "hey dude, look what a young boy I got". Fits the theme perfectly IMO, even tho I don't think it's technically good.

#14: Very nice portrait. I'm not sure but I think the photographer forced those blue eyes too much with editing, am I right? ;) Anyway, it's an awesome portrait, really, but doesn't pass my test.

#15: Awesome portrait, I love the lights here and how it merges with the dark background. Very well done, but, like the one above, it doesn't pass my test.
