Hehe, yeah :D

I have just learned how to wirelessly fire a flash ^^

Damn I'm gonna need to learn a lot of stuff, I'm glad I got the photo technical stuff down already.. :P

Set the internal/ on camera flash to commander mode and then set your off camera flash to be a slave. Easy peasy.

I think is a good body, for sure you will feel the improvement. GZ!

Just remember that Nikon lenses are more expensive.

Since I am not happy with my nikon d3000, especially noise levels (which isn't my only reason to upgrade), I have since a time back decided to upgrade.
I was choosing between a used nikon d300(s) or a nikon d90 to begin with, but then they announced the d7000...

This camera is affordable for me, I thought that the d90 + a used nikkor 17-55 2.8 would be a better buy but I can actually live with the 18-55 for a while more..
I will pre-order it this week, I'm really looking forward to it and I just couldn't resist sharing

I am also looking at upgrading my camera as I have now found the restrictive limitations of the d3000. I was stuck between a d300 or a d700 and now there is another option the d7000. I am pretty sure I read somewhere that the d700 has a switch that will allow you to go full frame or cropped. A 700 is not something affordable to me right now so I may wait until next summer. I have to think about it because I don't want to upgrade and upgrade again and again so I guess I have to decide how far I am willing to go into photography before making this decision. Please let me know what you think of the d7000 especially in low light shooting as I found the d3000 was terrible in low light.

Zex,

Seeing how much you've improved since you first showed me your photography to now that you've won a contest, I believe you've got a natural talent for it. If photography is something you like, don't be afraid to invest in your hobby. You never know, you may end up getting paid for it. I started with a Sony A100 and now I've got more than 10k worth of equipment. Photography sorta just grew into me.

Good luck!

Btw I hear the D7000 does really well in low-light conditions.

I already have a setup :)
Next upgrade is a tokina 11-16, most likely.
And I don't think nikon lenses are that much more expensive then equal quality of other brands.

Yeah, but keep in mind that even though the d700 is able to use crop-lenses, it will be a low resolution picture as an outcome

Is that a typo? Is there an ISO 8000? On the 5Dmk2 it goes from 6400 to 12800 with no 1/3rd stops in between.
Congratulations though :)

You said in one of your previous posts that you use the 18-55 kit lens only at 18mm it seems what you really need is an ultra wide angle lens and Nikon has some very good ones.
Like the new 16-35 f4 VR which seems to be a very wonderful lens. http://www.dpreview.com/news/1002/10020902nikon16mm35mm.asp
