I think this website will help you alot.
http://www.cameralabs.com/reviews/digital_camera_and_lens_reviews.shtmlI personally have Nikon d5000 and they aren't too bad for entry level camera.
Only problem i have with d5000 is that it doesn't have auto focus motor mounted on the camera. So you have to buy afs lens (expensive).
besides that, it gets all the job done i guess.
Hopefully this helps
Lol Afs lenses expensive... Go away multi... Get your plus ones elsewhere...

Really??? With only a 12Mpixel sensor and no HD video how are they going to compete with Canon. I mean the only advantage the D700 has over the 5Dmk2 is it's AF and higher FPS but when it comes to image quality
Canon is way better. haha maybe they are trying to force Nikon users to get the 8 grand D3X

Ah so I guess you want to shoot on film. If I were you I would just sell the F5 and D80 and get a D700 and then save for a bunch of good lenses

A better AF and higher FPS is much more important in action shots. Remember I do horse races, thats how I make all my money. Plus the D700 has a better build. 12 MP is easily enough. Cramming 18 MP on a smaller sensor reduces image quality, if I am not mistaken. I would never sell the F5, that thing is in many ways is better than the mid level dslrs. Not to mention I love the look of film.
