she definately is one outstanding character !!!!! you could have pulled that off much better tho. the portraits arent always well composed, the editing doesnt fit 100% ( depends on taste aswell I guess ). I think the last one is the best, even tho the lines in the frame are a little distracting, due to them seeming to cut off her head abit.

That's where you need to develop your skills as a photographer to direct people. It's all about the finesse.

I know! I just hate bossing people around, but I'm doing it more comfortably these days :)

well i worked with the little time i had to shoot and told her to look "vintagey" and she did pretty well! i have a different taste in editing as more people are starting to notice, some don't like it, some do! i do and the people i take photos of do also so it's all good!

i will embarrassingly admit i used to butcher great photos with loads of vignetting and too much editing, i went overboard. luckily i don't do that anymore!

LOL You aren't bossing anyone around, trust me.

It's a confidence thing and has nothing to do with being rude, bossy or arrogant. If you are directing a shoot, there is no one above you, especially not your subject.

Once you become more confident in what you want during a shoot and are technically savvy without thinking, your confidence will make people comfortable and more trusting of you.

Yeah I know -_- I'm just a shy quiet person and I'm trying to break out of that shell. Plus, it doesn't help that I'm 5'2 and honestly most people I come across (store clerks, family friends, etc) think I am about 15 years old! >_<
I can only imagine my past clients seeing me and instantly thinking "omg did we just hire a middle-schooler?!"

hahaha yeah I suppose it doesn't help but I've seen people (women included) of similar stature move mountains during shoots. Remember, you're the one with the camera. Do whatever you have to do to get a shot.

I used to be pretty shy as well, I honestly don't care anymore :3

I like what you have done here, a sort of 1950s atmosphere with a twist of today. Creative! I like the 2nd picture the best followed by the 1st. Thanks for sharing them :)

Yeah I'm breaking out of my shell! I'm not afraid to tell them to lay on the ground and things of that sort. Though I once messed up badly and had them sit in wet grass (I didn't know it was wet) and the dirt underneath was wet and well, you can only assume how they looked when they got up!
