I started digital with a point and shoot and learned a lot!!!
Used it for over a year, then got a bigger camera.
My little camera is a Canon Powershot A570is.. older model..
But a lot of people thought it took great pictures for not being a DSLR.


My mom has some kind of Sony little point and shoot, but I don't like the image quality on it.
Canon is great even at low price :)
I don't know anything about Nikon though for point and shooters...

But ya, start with the point and shoot, and when you feel you need to go one step higher, then you can upgrade :)
