Photoshop Raw can load a batch of files too and has a lot more specific editing functions ^ ^

adobe camera raw doesnt have much more editing functions than the processing mode in lightroom afaik?
The tools after is a whole other story though.

It has everything worth doing before the photoshop process of editing ^ ^

i7 doesnt make the manual part of sorting thru and editing a few dozen./hundred pics any faster

Yeah it would. Loading up and flicking through 100-200, 15-20mb raw images manually in lightroom with a high res preview can be a drainer of a process :/

of course.
But for every picture that you aren't gonna retouch at all in photoshop, means saved time if you use lightroom.
When I've taken a series of shots from an event, I pretty much never retouch my photos. For this, lightroom is awesome.

Well, yeah. Lightroom 3 beta 1 was released a few months ago. But this is lightroom 3 beta 2. ;)
