About the tool..
I don't really know...
I followed a tutorial I found on youtube, cause I was too dumb to understand the one on the GIMP site

I open the file, then I ctrl-d to open a duplicate..
I put the duplicate in black and white, I copy it, then I go back on the original to paste the black and white layer...
Then I do a couple things in the layer thing that I could try to explain on vent if you want me to and have the patience
Then I use the brush and reveal the color in the desired area
I made sure I did a lot one after the other, so it's now automatc for me to get started and I don't have to look at the tutorial anymore

Not needing tutorials is one of the first steps to being pro imo
Its all about layering etc etc hmmm I'll fiddle around
