I say go for it. If its something you are going to be doing long term it has to be something your going to enjoy. Go with once a week.

This is my slow slow start. I had a rough day but no excuses! Here I was just playing with my wireless canon flash. Trying to get a feel for it etc etc.

Suggestion: Make a blog and instead of putting the pictures in this thread which will probably get lost in a few hours or so..
And then link your blog from this thread so you don't have a ton of other people pictures along with yours.

Naaaaaaaaaaah! This way is better. It keeps people seeing it maybe they'll join in. And we get to see their photos here instead of going to their blog. How would we know if they have a new photo up? That is a good idea in such a wat to keep them together. Maybe they can do both.

Its a decent suggestion. It certainly would be cleaner. But a part of this is to have others post along with me as Kri has done. I hope he sticks it through the whole way.

Far from happy with this shot. There are any number of reasons this shot isn't everything I wanted it to be. BUT if we don't shoot we don't learn. Using two flashes with umbrellas. Practicing controlling light on a subject close to a wall. Messing around with getting the settings right. Couldn't quite get what I was looking for.

I guess you got more of an advantage. I don't have umbrellas or two flashes :O.

Hey if you want to try, you can pm a moderator and try to get this thread stickied!

Anything can work as a light source. Flashes and umbrellas are just easier to set up and control. Id bet money you could have a great time with some cardboard a sheet and a regular house lamp. Actually.... I might try alternate light sources as one of my weeks themes. Damn it chantal7 your good.

Im not too concerned about getting this thing stickied. This forum isn't all too fast and I should be posting here regularly lol.

Nothing fancy today. Just a simple portrait. Screwed around with a single light source. Moved It. Tried it with the umbrella and not. All kinds of fun. I liked the lines in my face so I settled for this shot. Sooner than later I'm going to start providing the camera settings etc.

I don't do sad well. I'm mostly a happy person !

I think tomorrow I'm going to try and show depressing without using my facial expressions.

Yeah good point. With you posting here everyday we shouldn't need it be stickied

I have an idea for my photo, I just gotta make time to do it! >< and I would rather do it when I am alone hehehe. I don't do sad well either, so we'll see how depressing I can get.
