Pfft - don't feel stupid, you feel as if you just learned something

It happens to all of us. I always use the manual function now; although I don't know everything about it yet, still trying to get used to the over/under exposed part, but I got it figured out I think.
Btw, third and last photos are great

Last photo has a good dof, I'm not a huge fan of flower shots though, so I'm trying to do my best.

Haha... I wish my parents would buy me a really expensive DSLR, but nooo... I had to pay for my own, but oh well at least I'll have one, can't wait to get it.
It's good you paid for your own - it shows that you make do with what you have and responsibility, control over your expenses. I feel gratitude toward people buying their own expenses, not having their parents buy them everything.

Cool, I am kinda likewise not having a hobby I could stick too, about 5 months ago I started photography and bought myself a bass guitar and I've been sticking with them, and now I bought myself that camera.
I had that same problem... lol - finally got photography to stick.
