not always.

deviantart/flickr are perfect examples.

and again it has a lot to do with style/genre and what youre trying to aim at, and what you think works.

Yes, I know that. A lot of people edit photos. I don't mind some editing, to tweak it a bit, but when someone edits it to the extreme; they just need to take a better picture; that is if they are editing it to look better. Sometimes I edit my photos just for the cool effect; not whether it looks better ^_^

You shouldn't really be needing to edit your photos.

I totally agree with you on this one, bro!

It's like why do you buy a dslr and expensive lenses when you have to add effects and change stuff in every single pictures you take?

well its kind of like how some people dont like your hair a certain way, too long too short too weird too crazy, you can judge them with whatever right you think you have and it might make an impact on what they think or they might not give a rats poop, you cant make everyone happy, but i think people should do what they think looks good or is right not what other people think.

to me i like to see all the things in front of me, even if i decide that i only believe one way i still am aware of all of the things that arent what i believe in.

if i see something that isnt what i would support i still think its cool because maybe something will spark and i would start to.

i know a lot of people that say negative things about it and then after time they jump on the band wagon like nothing is wrong. :)

sorry this topic is really hard for me to explain since theres so many views.

ask the people who have thousand dollar cameras and edit a photo for thousands of dollars for million dollar magazines.

and also because they can.

the worst thing for an artist is to be limited on their rights of boundaries of creativity and imagination, no one should say whats good whats bad whats right whats wrong.

Well those photos in magazines are different I mean those photographers often have to remove stuff on those celebrities faces or make them look skinner or enlarge their chests... It's all about looking good AND selling those magazines and nothing else so of course they would do whatever it takes to make their pictures look "perfect". Those kind of editing are entirely different compared to the every day picture us hobbyists take

my first point was genre.

but it pretty much got ignored.

and even people who take photography as a hobby have their own style and genre.

ive said it so many times.

i wish people werent so close minded.
inot that im against non edited photos because i havent said anything negative as far as im aware, i just think editing deserves just as much right.

sorry lol I guess I just read part of your post or whatever. Well I am not saying that it is absolutely wrong to use Photoshop I mean I do use Photoshop to create uhh art or whatever you would call it when I turn some of my pictures into signatures ^^. It's fun to play around with and add effects BUT when I try to post serious photographs I would try to post process as little as possible. Anyway we all have different tastes and likings though I do get a lil bit annoyed when people showing their extensively post edited photos and claim that they are pro photographers. :p

i know everyone has those little things that they get annoyed from, everyone sees things differently.

yeah but you cant just think about the negatives! you have to think positively and even if things arent what you usually like i still think its good to apreciate it or not really say anything if its not good. :P

Yeah, editing does deserve as much right, I was just saying my opinion before on how my style is not editing :)

I agree that art is art, there is no right or wrong. I've seen a lot of sayings like "my photos, my rules" ... meaning there's no right/wrong way to do photography or art for that matter.

Yeah, I realize it is hard to explain haha it's also hard to explain without giving the wrong impression.

Yeah I guess you are right ^^
Though I do usually try to keep an open mind but sometimes I am just too stubborn to embrace certain things :p lol Well nobody is perfect, right? :p
