haha well actually I bought the 40D not for its speed but for it's build, better AF, large viewfinder and high ISO performance.

yeah, look at the back of ur camera where the lcd is, the button at the top right (pretty small) with a (+) symbol underneath - push it and ull get af point selection up, push the navigation keys to select ur desired point

wow that sounds complicated. Doesn't 450D/XSI have a dedicated button for AF point selection? I guess that's another reason why I bought 40D because it got a lot more dedicated buttons for different functions and settings
