use 1 focus point (like he middle one) and place the focus where you want it. Once focused recompose the image. It's that easy.

Okay, that's what I thought I had to do. Thanks happy.gif

I have kinda noticed that the center focus point is usually more sensitive on my camera and it has happened that while only using one of those outer focus points to trying to focus on a dark area my camera wouldn't focus at all. I am sure it's even more noticeable on your XTI so you may want to choose the center focus point when try to take portraits or whatever in low light.

lol Well they can come handy when you don;t want to have your main subject in the middle. Like a sunset portrait or something like that. I guess it takes some practice to get used to only using one selected focus point. smile.gif

yeah... rolleyes.gif That's why you have to buy expensive lenses for good bodies rolleyes.gif. It's pretty much like buying luxury cars you have to get those luxury accessories for your car too course you don't want to put a crappy vintage radio with cassette thingy player that cost like 20 bucks in your 50 grand car right? laugh.gif

LOL. Probably.
Be careful, I'm not liable if you damage your camera biggrin.gif

on another note, does anybody know how to set more than 1 AF point??
(Like, 2 AF-points??)
I'm not sure if it's possible, but perhaps...maybe somebody knows?

not its not, because if you try and set the left and the right point simultaniously (for example), and there are two objects that are no way near the same depth then which point should you use? you can only use 1. If you have 2 subjects just focus on one, and use as small a aperture as required to get them both in focus.

Dont worry i wont break it. it seems to be pretty tough anyway ive dropped it from 5 foot a couple of times and all its killed are a few pixels on the lcd which are now dead
