They have. I'm actually talking to my prof. right now.

"Jenn Lee says:
I ignore those that don't have anything to show in comparison or I reply with "thanks for your opinion, it would be nice to see some of the work of yours""

When random people comment on my work with no work to show their own understanding of photography, I don't like it.
Which is what I stated from the beginning.

@Chantal7, I never stated "Only criticize my work only if you have your own work to show."
I stated that if you are going to say something is wrong with my photo, please don't just talk...show.

Same difference.... but if you don't like the comment, just ignore it sad.gif I do!

Alright then, next time anyone asks you to criticise their photography, I expect you to post some of your work in the post before you start analysing theirs.

Your professor's attitude seems entirely unprofessional.

You are one to be talking with a 20% Warn and can't spell "Analyzing" correctly.

And I did not say posted the photo's in that exact topic.
I mean posting it somewhere else in the Photography forum.

I think people could say something about the thing they like. For example if I like the way the person is moving and the bird is sitting on the wall I would say that. I do not require photography terms, just people expressing themselves, and what they like about the photo.

Yeah, and to add to that, there are no "rules" really, in photography... sure, the rule of thirds, but it's art... it's all freelance.

an⋅a⋅lyse [an-l-ahyz] Show IPA Pronunciation
–verb (used with object), -lysed, -lys⋅ing. Chiefly British
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/analysing

Definition
analyse UK, US analyze Show phonetics
verb [T]
to study or examine something in detail, in order to discover more about it:
Researchers analysed the purchases of 6300 households.
Water samples taken from streams were analysed for contamination by chemicals.

It's nice to see that not only do you have to resort to the stupidest shit to try to prove a point, but you get it wrong to boot.

Again, I'll make the point, one does not need to take photographs to be capable of critically analysing them.

It's all a matter of opinion.
I am one who hates getting criticized by people whom I feel don't have knowledge of the subject and can't really provide info on how to make the photo better.

Keep talking if you want, this thread is probably locked because of you Veil, thanks.
Too arrogant as I said before, now please stop talking to me.

So if someone with a masters degree in fine art but zero knowledge of photography were to criticise your photograph, you'd think their opinion wasn't valid?

Yes, I am arrogant, it's natural when you're having to talk to clueless kids that really have absolutely no idea of what they're talking about.
