both lens and camera gives the quality, if u got crap camera it will make awfull noise and downgrade trhe quality, if u got crap lens images wont be sharp and u might need to use higher iso, these are the things that make the most difference between crap and good camera/lens, but ofc there are other things too. 4mega pixels is good enough for a4 prints. Im with astragony, cheap nikons sucks, get atleast d90 if u want nikon. If u want cheap get canon 400d

True enough, but I'm yet to see any DSLR with a sensor so bad it'd affect an A5 picture, and let's face it, 99% of people here aren't likely to want to print anything larger than that.

It'll be cheaper for you to go get them printed in a shop as opposed to buying a photo quality printer, paper and ink.

oh really? I have seen a friend of mine printing some very high quality photos using her tiny Canon photo printer and later on an All-in-one HP printer
but I am not sure how much the ink and photopaper cost though lol

It should be, otherwise you could always try online printing services, some are very good, especially for big orders if you plan on selling prints.

ok! Thanks for the advice but I think I'll just buy my own printer and avoid all the hassle by ordering printing services and all that biggrin.gif besides it's more fun too.
I mean it must be quite exciting when waiting for the printer to print a photo and then see the result right away happy.gif

Just make sure your screen's calibrate so you're not left frustrated when the print doesn't match the image on the screen. wink.gif

I disagree, unless you want to compromise quality for a bit of cash. sad.gif

Buying a printer you will get MUCH higher quality then going and getting them done someplace.
You save money in the long run by printing from home.

The cost of gas to drive to the place, then back. Then driving back there to pick them up and back home cost more than the actual prints.
Then when you get home to see the shitty quality you are disappointed.
