On the note of photography being a talent. Everything can be learned except composition. But by studying other's works and discovering your own style I think anyone can be a professional photographer. I personally think photography is a art median for those who aren't the most artistic fellows and can't draw a straight line such as myself. Kind of levels the playing field and lets anyone create art.
That's so true. I am sure there are photographers out there who are actually less talented than some of the amateurs

but they managed to become professionals because they have passion for photography and was willing to put energy and time into learning and perfecting their skills.
