yeah they work in the same way but they have different mounts. Because if both lens' were the same mount from both of the top manufacturers then everyone would buy canon lens' and nikon body because the expensive canon lens' are a little better and the expensive nikon bodys are a little better, etc.


e/ im actually in the same boat as you - i want one of them 1.8 cheap lens' coz everyone say they are amazing and i could finally capture action shots without having to use max brightness settings ^^

i dunno but it would prob reduce image quality. just stick with nikon lens because you might decide to buy a d300 or other pro nikon a while in the future because those nikons in the high market are suppost to be amazing
