haha well I don't know the names of places in the downtown area very well. Well I am good at remembering names of places in general but humlegÄrden sounds familiar but that park you mentioned is completely new to me but I wouldn't be surprised that I have been there. You know I actually tried to take some pics of people who were skateboarding in those bowls but they all stopped when they save me approaching them with my camera, lmao wussies. biggrin.gif

lols. I was kinda photo-shy aswell. Usually just stood there and evil eyed them until they left. (who knows, maybe I met you at one point xD)

haha nah I don't usually approach people to take pictures of them I think I've only done that couple of times and only when they were not looking at my direction and my heart was beating like crazy when I did that too because I didn't want to get into trouble or anything. So most of the time when I take pics of people it would be like 6545456456 meters away and the fact that I don't have a telezoom lens made most of the pics crappy. It's different if you are with friends and take pics of them though but none of my friends are into that kind of "crazy" stuff lol and most of them are boring gamers :S

here are a few of my failed photos of people:

This guy's mother was standing not far away so I didn't really want her to see me taking a pic of her child because I do not want people to accuse me of being a sick pedo or something lol
I like to take pictures of kids. They are like cats, can never sit still and do random stuff all the time lol.

I intended to take a much closer portrait of the cleaning guy sitting on the ground wearing a crappy hat with some more well dressed people walking by him but when I walked by him he just gave me this weird look so I kinda got scared and walked far away to take this picture. sad.gif

Gahhh, my reply didn't post >___<" Well, I'll just sum it up than lol icon_pointr.gif A great way of taking pics without people knowing is just selecting burst, pulling up the shutterspeed rather fast and walking by slowly and casually while taking pictures to the side of you lol. It's like a drive-by shooting but with photography xD Just make sure to disable the flash / other reveling options and don't look into the viewfinder, just hold it firmly down by your waist ^^ You'll most likely get a shot or two you like if the subject is good tongue.gif Atleast this is how I've taken pictures of people in the past xD (dad taught me lol).

oh lord! hahaha I laughed so hard when I read your suggestion about walking by people and taking pics of them using burst mode. I mean can you actually imagine how stupid it would look if I carry around a big camera like the 40D (I think D80 is almost as big as eos 40D) and point it towards people and pretend to just walk by. lmao! Well you know I doubt the results would be any good at all, I am sure the composition would be really crappy and the pictures probably blurry and I doubt the high frame per second of the 40D would matter much. As people used to say if you don't know where to point your camera you might as well leave it at home tongue.gif It's the person behind the camera not the camera itself who is able to take amazing and high quality pictures smile.gif

Trust me, just try it ;] Once in a great time you can get some awesome shots. And no-one notices trust me ^^ if you just keep your finger on the button and walk non-nonchalantly.

lmao nah I won't do that. It's kinda weird taking pictures of people like that besides I'd rather take landscape and nature photos tongue.gif
I will probably try to take some portraits of friends in the future instead.

Hms, suit yourself tongue.gif I personally believe people pictures are 10 times more interesting (and much harder to take).

OMG! hahaha you actually shot 600 pics in one day???? ohmy.gif That's pretty insane and I thought that those 2000 pics I took during a period of less than 3 months was a lot. tongue.gif

well we all have personal preferences. I prefer landscape and nature photography because I like the view of certain places and the colorfulness of the nature in fall tongue.gif
