Well, I think that my lens blocks the "flash" from getting to that area of the photo. There is nothing else that I can think of that is in the way lol. Since my flash is behind my lens, I am quite sure it's the lens doing it, but who knows.

yep. your lens is too long for your on-camera flash.

you need a seperate strobe unit!

Haha. ohmy.gif

I do have a speedlite 430EX - this seems to be working for me so far, with the bounce flash. All's I gotta do is move it up so it's not directly facing the person / thing.

Strobe unit? What is that?

hmm I am really curious about what the heck a strobe unit is. I tried to google for it but it shows different explanation... Is it some kind of a light source for indoor or studio photography?

430ex is a strobe, like other camera flashes(atleast nowadays)

as far as i know strobe light is some light that flashes fast in all the cases.

doesnt strobe effect lighting help with a camera's focus. Like an AF assist method?

coz the built-in flash can fire bursts of light, to help the focus pinpoint the point of focus, right? smile.gif
