450d.  Better feel, better image quality, better lenses available, better features, better camera.

ok nice one, and is it good value for money? coz i could buy a 55-200mm lens as well with the nikon, for the same price as the canon with only the 18-55mm

what is a 55-200mm lens anyway??!! is it any good?

I think you got it backwards or something
I have used 400D a few times in the past and I have to tell you the 40D feels much more solid in my hands because of its larger size

Yeah that's 450d vs. nikon d60. Obv. the 40d wins vs the 450d

I'm not sure about that lens from Nikon. Just read some reviews on it. It is a lot of money to spend on a camera whichever way you go. I picked the Canon after much research, and am very happy with it.

Don't let us totally convince you though, go hold each camera at the store and read some reviews. I think you'll pick the Canon in the end, but maybe not. I recommend a lot of research before choosing on something so expensive.

The most important thing though is that you don't regret your purchase. I don't think you'll regret the Canon.

450d is about same as 400d, i had 400d and got 40d, i know how they do in different situation. 40d has way better af system and its better in every way. What comes to mega pixels 10>12 since 450d needs to have smaller pixels to make them fit to same sensor and that creates noise and will only make the files larger, 10mp is allready so big you dont even need that much, even 4mp is enough to print 30cmx25cm prints. How well 450d handles high iso depends what u compare it to, it does well versus 300d for example. 40d is way better and easier to use than 450d.

Allso u got 3200 iso on 40d and 1600 is max on 450d

Yeah...but I'm not saying the 450 is a better camera. I'm saying IQ is very close on the two.
