Wow. Impressive shot.

Haven't seen you around much before, are you a working pro or something?

Also, if you don't mind me asking, what do you shoot with and how did you light that scene? Key on cam left and fill on right?

Thank you!! I truly wish I was a working pro - I'm just a young student trying to get to that point. I've only sold maybe a little over $130 in photos so far.

This is an older photo, from 2010 I think - I now shoot with a Nikon D90, shutter release, and an SB-600 flash, but I might have even been using my Powershot SX10 IS in this.

My lighting was definitely not top notch; I took it in the dark, only lighting my face by the light from the street outside and an upturned desk lamp.
It took quite a few tries to get it set up properly. Classy, I know.

You're the type of photographer I wish I was. Unless it makes me money, photography doesn't interest me :(

It's not whether girls can or can't, but whether they do or don't. I thought you were a guy too.

Really? Do you not enjoy the art of it? I'm jealous that you make money from it though! I'm definitely in it for the passion myself, it's one of the few things I really love.

In the city I live in, photography styles were 10 years behind somewhere like NY or LA. They seriously still enjoyed selective coloring and 'vintage' effects. The 'art' of it was so limited because everyone wanted wall portraits only. I had to really be patient in order to change the view.
I enjoy it, but I've also got to eat + study :\

Yeah, I have a girl who is very new to modeling and I'm new to photographing models... Today was a very basic shoot because she needs simple portraits for the agency she is speaking with. A little crazier soon though, or it's what me and this girl working together toward :D I can't wait until I have the confidence to make some really unique things, and the ability to direct a model properly. Do they really all want the spot colouring and such? That's kind of odd. I hope things get more interesting!
