Just got the batteries for my Nikon N70 btw, trololol.

Just got finished reading this site (I know youll love it onepage) and it sounds to me like the d700 and 5d are comparable. He compares the D3s to the 1Ds Mark III.

Did you know Ken Rockwell is sponsored by Nikon? Silly girl.

Take it from someone who used Nikon at work for 2 years and decided to go Canon. The 5d II is by far superior in IQ, gives you the ability to crop, and renders skin tones beautifully. Ask Lifthkin what he thinks of Nikon (he also has seen it used at work and edits NIkon files all day).

Read carefully before quoting a site :D

So what do I shoot as of June 2010? My D3 stays locked-up in my studio, mostly because it has selectable 4:5 aspect ratio. For my style of shooting in the field, I prefer the Canon 5D Mark II because it weighs less than any other full-frame DSLR, and it's Total Recall modes let me shoot anything fast without the fiddling required by my Nikons. If I'm shooting something special, like a kid's birthday party in low light, I'll pull out the D3 (very similar to the D700 I would have bought if I didn't already own a D3), otherwise, the 5D Mark II wins on resolution and light weight. With its new v2 firmware, the 5D Mark II screams. Size, weight and ergonomics are everything to me, so the 5D Mark II is what I grab for use in the field. It's colors are superior to the LEICA M9, and to me, color is everything.

Which is why I said I know youll love it xD But really, he didnt seem a bit biased. He pointed out tons of ways that the 5d II was better.

Id really hate to take the hit as far as lenses though. I wont have a ton of money to throw around for a whole new setup, you know that =/

the D700 and 5D II are for different markets
D700 is better for sports etc
5D II is better for events or where speed isnt an issue

I just ordered a canon grid focusing screen for my 5D mark II. Curious if it´s so much cooler than the standard one.

The thing that made me choose canon over nikon is that pro canon lenses are cheaper then dito nikon ones.

Does anyone have experience in generic battery grips? I would like one, but I don't want to pay as much for a Canon, maybe there's a different brand? Is it worth it? Or stick with the brand of your camera?
