I asked if the result of the 135mm cropped down to the same perspective as 200mm with 70-200 would be close to the same results

This may be a stupid question, but if I were to upgrade my camera, just the body, it would be ok to use the same lenses right?

? it depends on the camera you have, and which one you want.

D5000 right now, looking into the D700.

it will work. But if you have a DX-lens it will be vignetting a LOT
