Good! You'll see a HUGE difference in IQ. Besides, FF rocks, and you already have the best lens available. Consider going pro and making moneys off your cam.

Hopefully so, i debated long and hard before settling on the 5DII. 7D was on my radar for the longest time! Till i was repeatly told that i won't see "major" improvement in IQ over my current 50D. 5DII was the next best thing. I would have went with a 5Dc and kept my 50D but ISO3200 performance took a hit on the 5Dc.

Now i need to sell like almost all my lenses since they don't work on FF -_-. I dunno what i'm gonna buy for my standard zoom.. 24-105L or 24-70L :/. Losing a stop but gaining 3stop IS seems appealing, the DoF difference is made up by FF sensor and the 1 stop lost = 1 stop higher ISO which is okay for a 5dII. Hopefully i can pick up a Sigma 50/1.4 in a few months.

MEh

Oh and if anyone is interested, CLP is selling 7D @ $1087+ Tax which is an absolute steal.

Remember 1 thing: the IS is only for things that don't move. Low-light situations often have some potential for movement, where 2.8 would be >. If they don't move, tripod + slower shutter would work.

what's CLP?

I know, but i notice that with 70% of my shots, they're stationary. Of the 30% that do move, 29% were shot in broad daylight with more then enough shutter speed (plus it seems i shoot them at f/5.6~)

Edit: CLP = Canon Loyalty Program. They sell you refurbished cameras at the Canon direct +20% off if you trade in a broken canon camera (a broken $15 p&s from eebay works too).

It's $1087 for a 7D
They also had the 5DII for $1599... but seems like they discontinued offering the 5DII as of Nov.1.

So fuck me for having to shell out $300 more to buy my damn 5DII. :fume:

For business, I'd rather buy new than refurbished. That's what they sell you on the CLP.

To recovery: it's USA only :D

I can't find the exact quote. But a canon rep said that refurbished canon camera undergo a strict inspection.

With new cameras, they randomly select one from the batch to do quality control.

With refurbished camera, they test every one of them to make sure it's perfect before sending it to retail.

Plus, some people have been getting cameras with only 13-15 shutter actuation from CLP.

Recovery isnt' from the states?
