Wondering what that brown think in the foreground is^^ Cause i dont like flowerpics that much i´ll give u 5/10 and my pic here :) YES ITS ME ! :D

Those pictures are always fun :) A lot of people do them though, including me! :lol: 7/10

I haven't been taking a lot of photos, but I am curious on what more people think of this one, their honest opinions:

Very cool, you captured that perfectly imo. (Whats with the text though O.o)

Also it seems a bit dull, like color wise. I think if you did a little editing it would be a lot nicer. 8.5/10

It's part of the tree. The branch was over the broken part of the tree.

Love the composition of the main subjects. The b&w + grain adds a nice effect. Though the background is somewhat busy, maybe a crop?

True, I really need to start cropping more often, Im terrible about that -.-

What animal is that, I cant tell (Im probably being blonde) I love the dof, how did you get so close? Ive had animals chase me xD Im a freak about bokeh also and I love the bokeh in this shot, my only complaint is that its a bit noisy. 9/10

It's a baby goose :lol: Pic was taken at a state park close to my home. I couldn't really get close either.. i was using my 70-200 to take that shot. The mother (or perhaps father?) was very protective of it's youngs. Kept it's eyes on me whenever i stepped closer.. i didn't want to scare them so i stay a good distance away. I crop a ton off the picture.. What i showed is pretty much a 100% crop.. if not more, so noise is quite apparent.

Here's link to the original shot before cropping.. as you can tell.. i crop away 85% of the image. (I know the composition was bad, but it's so hard to get these birds to look straight at you. I took a quick snap when i saw the opportunity. Had center point AF enabled via AI Servo so meh.)

As for your shot. The technique used is good but the practice is um.. can use improvement. There are alot of strong lines in the photo that guide my eyes.. but they lead to a cropped train :/

I give the little duck a 6/10!
The composition is spot on, the focus is perfect, but the only problem is the exposure! A little dark! :)
You could fix it by using one of those new filters you got on the water, allowing for a slower shutter speed to increase the exposure of the duck, while still maintaining the exposure of the water.
Or, bumping up the ISO and using the burn tool on the water in post processing >.<

Hard to rate...
I'll go for a 6.5/10
Technically it look well done, but the interest in the subject is close to none..
But the blue gradient is beautiful :)
