Nope, I'm aiming for a very monochromatic and minimalistic site/logo/brand so keeping colour to a minimum.

Is best.

Just bought a 50mm 1.8, now I feel like my Sigma 17-70 is a piece of crap in comparrison with the IQ of the 50mm.

I got lens pentax 18-250 mm 3.5-6.3, dont have additional flash and i hate using standard one, so when making portraits im just using natural light coming from window. sometimes need to use too long shutter speed for live object, even if doing those from tripod i still get not enough sharp images like eyes etc, maybe some suggestions how to make that better? =]

well there aren't many things you can do.

Either you get enough light for sharp images, or you don't. Maybe you should actually concider using the built-in flash!

I hope you aren't trying at iso 100, because if the image isn't sharp it's in most case not useful. But a sharp image can be a bit noisy, and still be useful!

Depends, but in my case, yes.

I'm also pretty much down with the whole feel of the identity, got the fonts I want to use as body text on the site, along with suitable colours and the layout is mostly done and coded.

no no, built-in flash is just too ugly, im using higher iso too, but at 800 it goes too noisy already.

hmm I didn't know the Sigma is THAT bad :O
I personally really hated the Canon 50mm f1.8II but mostly because it's crappy build and slow/loud AF. While bokeh is quite good at f1.8 but kind of crappy at higher f numbers.
