And what if I can't get an assistant?

You don't have friends who have some basic idea how camera works? If not then you be just fine by your own.

But I don't have a full frame body.... yet ::DDD
got the 50mm f1.8, and that lens is fucking amazing, i shoot with that very often
well I have not tried 70-200 yet, only the KIT lens

I used to shoot only 70-200 when i assisted. I got great shots, don't get me wrong. But it became so boring, and you don't feel part of it all. Also, when you are forced to get close and interact your confidence really rockets!

ok my turn

2bodies
the 35mm is great and yeah is the best for this
2nd lens is a choice, 85 or 70-200 personal preference is the 70-200
2back up batteries - oem as the 3rd party are unreliable and don't last near as long
lots of good 8 or 16gb cards
large reflector with stand

now here is where I am different:
I shoot off-camera flash, yip even at weddings
I have a flash unit on a mono pod;
- during the actual ceremony I hold it - normally have the bottom of the monopod resting on my belt or pocket and then direct it with my left hand, or balance it with the bottom under your armpit..... while shooting with my right
- the actual couple or wedding party shoot depends totally on where we are, but I always have 3light stands available
- at the reception an assistant holds the monopod and is my portable light stand (don't have them do this during the ceremony as I don't want to crowd the area)
if you can manage it get and assistant for the lighting but they can also shoot the ceremony, and then also a full second shooter

so the additional stuff I take:
3light stands, 5 flash units
loads and loads of batteries (eneloop)
large battery charger
laptop and card reader, I get 1of them to copy to a hdd so I have 2copies ASAP, last thing I want is too lose photos

that's all I can think of for now, sure I have missed something

oh and very important get yourself the dual black rapid strap it is so comfortable, I wasted money on all different straps, but that is best!

I used only 18-135 yet, but it's boring too, i can't get enough dof to create a "professional" look, I think I will use my 50mm f1.8 from now and we'll see it :D
also, I have a cropped sensor dslr, so the 50mm is really 80mm, and thats quiet bad :(

yeah, that's what such a pain with shooting weddings
u don't do full edits etc, but u need to; sort crop, and do basic adjustments (exposure, wb, ...) to all
