Awesome! I LOVOOEOEOEOEO VEOVEVEV! going into old buildings! I don't get much opportunity, yet, but if I do, I jump on it! My first old building experience was a few years ago and I loved it. I enjoy seeing pictures of these. Awesome work, and congrats on the new les!

Thanks Chantal :D! I wish I could find more places like it too. I went scouting around again today but nothing looked accessible D: Every time I see a house that looks like its about to fall apart Im like MUST GO IN! xD

SAME! My cousin and I entered an old hospital in a small town... man, It was small... it was like the size of people's houses in today's world. Was pretty cool. I didn't get to spend hours taking pictures there, though. Others were with me and kinda rushing me out. But I stretched the time as best as I could! I want to go back there, and will next time we camp in that area.

Oh and btw, how much did you pay for the monitor? Amazon has them on sale right now for 406..not a bad price.

it was a bundle deal with the PC etc
yeah it has been around $400 for a while now
if you dont want to spend the much there are other alternatives
Dell U2412M or ASUS PA248Q - cheaper panel, but truthfully you or I, or majority of people for that matter would not notice the difference - both around $300
HP ZR2440W is a good alternative just under $400

i was going to get the U2412M, but saw the awesome bundle deal

what i recommend though is stick to what you have, as long as its calibrated it will be great, yeah your monitor cant show as many colours etc but again we would not notice the difference unless both screens were side by side
just upgrade later when u really feel the need or what a 2 monitor setup
i am using a much cheaper IPS monitor, gonna have a dual monitor setup, not sure how i will have it, either:
1 - use the old 1 as my standard everyday monitor, and just the U2410 for editing
or
2 - use the U2410 as my standard and have the other in portrait mode for reading documents and some webpages etc

Ah yeah, I just saw it for $380 on another site. I checked out the 2412 but it doesnt seem like its for photo editing, more for gaming.

The main thing about this monitor is that unless you are looking at it straight on, the colors will be off. Look at it at an angle while youre editing and its gonna look awful.

I dont know that Ill ever have two, haha. ADD wont allow it.

dont be fooled by the u2412, its not aimed at gaming really, just a budget IPS
you will see a bigger improvement between a TN panel (as i am sure yours is) and low end IPS
than you will between a low end IPS and a mid/high end IPS such as the u2410

viewing angle and colours will be so much better

Don't be afraid to use it for landscape shots, it has beautiful compression ;)

Yeah, I was mainly going by the reviews on amazon. People are so informative on there..it seems like people have issues with the matte/anti glare coating?

This is true. I just dont want to have to upgrade anytime soon, know what I mean? I just dont want to get a pricy monitor but be left wanting.

Either way it would be a worlds difference between my current monitor and a new ips monitor, lol.

Thanks!

Not so much afraid, I just dont like landscape at all D: It interests me about as much as action/sports photography, haha. Either give me a cute baby or a dilapidated building :P.

Oh and speaking of which, I will be shooting a baby soon, she'll be around 5 months. Ill probably be doing a mix of indoor/outdoor, Im getting some new drops and such. Any tips for me? Especially when it comes to dof.
