I would appreciate it if you were able to list the advantages / disadvantages.
I'm a beginner photographer but as of making this decision I'm not looking to take professional photos for clients.
I plan to just use it on vacations, at parties such as raves or to take it camping.
I would also like video recorder that would allow me to get detailed audio/video quality.
Any questions? Please ask.
Also please explain things such as when talking about ISO, I'm a newb after all :P

since you a begginer.. won't recommend investing in a FX camera especially you said you only want for vacations.
I would suggest to go for a Nikon. D3100/D3200/d5100 with the standard 18/55mm kit lens - DEPENDING ON YOUR BUDGET.
These are great Entry DSRLs and you can upgrade them in time by purchasing different lenses. Also they got live view and video in HD
Also there is a soft integrated that will choose for you teh settings by what type of photo you want to take. after that you can use scenes or go Manual in the end.
Only disatvantage is that has no AF in teh body so if you want auto focus you going to buy only lenses with AF which migth be a little more expensive but you won't feel that.
Just watch some reviews about and you will see that is a very good buy.
